U.S. sanctions on Russian oil escalate tensions amid Ukraine conflict and worsening Gaza crisis.

Good Morning,

The U.S. and E.U. impose sweeping sanctions on Russian oil and gas, following failed talks with President Putin, who acknowledges potential economic impacts. Ukraine supports these measures, while a top Russian official labels them an "act of war." Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. In response to the sanctions, China's state oil companies have suspended Russian oil purchases, and the yen has weakened as markets react to the evolving situation.
