Israel Attacks Hamas Leaders in Qatar; Japan, Philippines Expand Co-op Regarding China; Russia Strikes US/EU Supply Facilities

September 10, 2025

Good Morning,

President Trump criticized Israel's military strike targeting Hamas leaders in Qatar's capital, calling it counterproductive to Israel and America's goals. The controversy deepened when activists claimed a Gaza-bound aid flotilla vessel was struck by a drone at a Tunisian port, though Tunisian authorities disputed the account, saying any explosion came from inside the vessel. Meanwhile, regional tensions continue to flare as Syria condemned Israeli bombing of three locations as a "blatant infringement" of sovereignty, while Pacific allies Japan and Philippines strengthened defense cooperation amid growing Chinese influence. The war in Ukraine took a troubling turn as officials revealed Russian missiles hitting government buildings contained US and European components, and political pressure mounted in Brazil where two of five judges found former President Bolsonaro guilty in ongoing legal proceedings.
