India-Pakistan Declare Ceasefire; Poland Accuses Russia of Arson; Trump Resets China Relations as Global Security Concerns Mount
May 12, 2025
Good Morning,
A fragile ceasefire between nuclear powers India and Pakistan has both sides claiming victory, while Poland has formally accused Russian intelligence of orchestrating last year's devastating Warsaw shopping center fire. Pope Leo XIV used his first Sunday appearance to make an impassioned plea for peace, as President Trump celebrated what he termed a "total reset" in U.S.-China relations following high-stakes trade talks in Geneva. Meanwhile, German software giant SAP has announced the abandonment of its diversity initiatives under pressure from the new Trump administration, signaling potential shifts in corporate policies worldwide.
