Global tensions rise with Ethiopia-Eritrea conflict, military buildups, market downturns, protests, and stalled cease-fire talks.

March 14, 2025

Good Morning,

Tensions are escalating globally as Ethiopia and Eritrea edge closer to war, according to warnings from Tigray officials, while Australia is increasing its military capabilities by arming troops with anti-ship missiles in response to perceived threats from China. In the financial sector, Wall Street has experienced a significant downturn, falling 10% below its record high following President Trump's intensification of the trade war. Meanwhile, Jewish protesters have gathered in the lobby of Trump Tower to demand the release of a Columbia University activist. On the international stage, Russian President Putin has refrained from agreeing to a cease-fire, instead imposing stringent conditions.
