Crisis Response and Global Diplomacy: Toronto Plane Crash Injures 19, European Leaders Debate Ukraine Strategy, and Egypt Counters U.S. Gaza Resettlement Proposal
Good Morning,
A Delta Air Lines CRJ-900 jet flipped onto its roof while landing in snowy and windy conditions at Toronto Pearson Airport, injuring 19 people, including three critically, while all 80 on board survived as authorities launched an investigation into the crash, European leaders met in Paris for emergency talks on Ukraine, calling for increased defense spending while remaining divided on deploying peacekeepers, as the U.S. and Russia prepared for bilateral negotiations in Saudi Arabia without European or Ukrainian participation, and Egypt is developing a plan to rebuild Gaza without displacing Palestinians, countering U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to depopulate the territory.
