China warns US of retaliation over tariffs as Trump aborts Gaza summit amid government shutdown threat
Good Morning,
In recent geopolitical developments, China has issued a warning to the United States, threatening retaliation in response to former President Trump's proposal of 100% tariffs, highlighting ongoing tensions in US-China trade relations. Meanwhile, a US Republican leader has cautioned that the impending government shutdown could be the longest in history. In the Middle East, Trump's plan to invite Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to a Gaza summit was aborted following a warning from Turkish President Erdoğan, even as Trump declared the end of the Gaza conflict with the exchange of hostages. Additionally, Poland has charged a Russian couple with espionage, and Trump has expressed intentions to pursue peace with Iran following the resolution of the Gaza war.
